The 2008 Henry Myers Lecture of the Royal Anthropological Institute will be given by Bruno Latour on 25 September 2008 at the British Museum in London. The lecture is entitled “Nature and Creation: What good is it for a man to gain his soul, yet forfeit the whole world?” Further details can be found on the RAI website. Here is the abstract:

Bruno Latour plays Tarde and Bruno Karsenti plays Durkheim in the re-enactment of a debate held in 1903 between Gabriel Tarde and Emile Durkheim, at the Tarde/Durkheim: Trajectories of the Social conference at the University of Cambridge on 14-15 March 2008.
Bruno Latour will give a public lecture at the European Institute at the LSE between 18:30 and 20:00 on Monday 4 February 2008. The lecture is entitled “Another European Tradition: traceability of the social and the vindication of Gabriel Tarde” and is part of the 2008 Franco-British Europe Dialogue series.
